Holiday in Paradise.

Australia is host to some of the oldest rainforest in the world. Home of wildlife found nowhere else on earth. Guardian of The Great Barrier Reef. Keeper of ancient aboriginal culture. Welcome.

Join a Scheduled Trip or Travel Independently.

Single travellers, couples, families, and groups: we are a tour company for folks who don't normally join tours, who are looking for different and authentic experiences. Join one of our small group trips, or we'll customise one to fit your budget and dates.

We Think Small.

This applies to our guided Small Group trips, our impact (we're carbon neutral), and where our money goes (we support locally-owned businesses and guides to keep income in the community).

But the little things--like meeting you at the airport, providing 24-hour in-country support, and adopting a rainforest plot in your name--
are hugely important to us.

About SWJ

Eco-Tours Australia.

Travel Cairns, Australia or other destinations such as Sydney, The Red Centre and Ayers Rock, and Melbourne with Small World Journeys, Australia's premier eco-tour company. We offer responsible tourism trips featuring a variety of adventure and nature activities for single travellers, couples, families and student groups looking for an Australian vacation.

Our trips are not a tour of Australia or "coach tours" with a lot of driving; rather, our responsible travel tours focus on smaller areas for a more intimate and authentic experience. Adult and student tours involve learning about the places we visit as well.

Small Group Travel: our all-inclusive, eco-friendly guided tours in Cairns, Australia, which include snorkeling or diving at the Great Barrier Reef, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, rainforest hiking, whitewater rafting the Tully river, aboriginal culture, an outback cattle station and visiting Australian national parks, are centered around eco tourism, adventure and responsible travel in Australia.

Independent & Custom Journeys: for those who prefer a private trip to Cairns, we can customize tours to suit a variety of tastes and budgets. Our Independent Journeys cater to travelers who favour green travel and eco-friendly holidays, but would rather travel on their own customised itinerary and specify their budget—whether luxury travel or budget travel. Perfect for a family vacation in Australia or a honeymoon in Cairns Australia.

Student tours Australia: A learning vacation! High school students and college/university students will find that Australia is the perfect place to study rainforest ecology, marine science, indigenous culture and biology, and have a fun time while on a vacation.

General Educational Tours Australia: for bird-watching groups, church groups, high school groups, college groups, university groups, specialty groups, yoga groups, gay travel groups, spiritual groups, or adult groups. Our educational programmes in Australia can incorporate activities involving aborigines, community service, overnight trips to the Great Barrier Reef, yoga, rainforest education and more. A true learning vacation in Australia.

Solar Eclipse 2012 Australia Tours: On November 14, 2012 the Cairns region will experience a total solar eclipse. This magical event can be experienced through three different adventures: Eclipse by Reef Boat, Eclipse by Balloon or Eclipse by Tropical Island.

Eco-friendly custom trip options can include: SCUBA diving the outer Great Barrier Reef, Daintree rainforest walks, whitewater rafting adventures, Tjapukai Aboriginal Culture Park, The Cairns Skyrail and historic train to Kuranda, mountain biking in Cairns, guided rainforest hikes, hot air balloon rides, skydiving, bungy jumping, sailing to the Great Barrier Reef, bird watching, horseback riding on the beach, honeymoons, swimming under waterfalls, and wildlife spotting such as kangaroos, koalas, the duck-billed playtypus and crocodiles in locations that include the Atherton Tablelands, Mossman Gorge and Daintree rainforest, Granite Gorge, Tully river, Mission Beach, Wooroonoran National Park, Josephine Falls, Babinda Boulders, Port Douglas, Mareeba Wetlands, Yungaburra, Ravenshoe, Daintree National Park and other Cairns eco tours.

We are members of Sustainable Travel International, The International Ecotourism Society, Ecotourism Australia, Cairns and Far North Environment Centre, and Tourism Tropical North Queensland. We pay to offset the carbon emissions that are generated through our office activities and the running of our trips.

Join us for an authentic adventure in Australia!
