Australia 2012
The November 2012 total solar eclipse path crosses the northern part of Australia from west to east. Once it passes the city of Cairns in Queensland's tropical north, it heads out to sea and doesn't make landfall again.
The Cairns region has been touted as the best place to see the eclipse by most professional eclipse observers including Jay Anderson, Fred Espenak and Xavier M. Jubier who have kindly let their information be shared in this website.

The following information and maps provide different aspects of the eclipse path of totality.
As you can see in the animation above. Australia is the only country where you can view totality from land. Norflok Island and New Zealand will however have significant partial eclipses.
