Create Your Students' Rite of Passage.

Can a high school student trip abroad be a defining moment in a young person's life? We've seen it many times. It is often when students are taken out of their comfort zone and their country and presented with new challenges that they grow and transform. That's why we offer authentic experiences on student trips tours that go beyond classroom learning and into real life.

Life-Changing Educational Programs.

Our student tours are not bus trips. Instead, students learn from modern-day cowboys on how they make a living. Or harvest veggies in a permaculture garden created by local high school students. Or paddle rapids for the first time as a team. Or see first-hand the effects of climate change on the Great Barrier Reef while earning a SCUBA certification. They begin to understand cultural differences from an affable guide, and understand from aboriginals what it means to be Australian. And in the process, they begin to see themselves and the world in a different light.

Our Guides Stop For Ice Cream.

But that's not the only fun thing they do. Our guides are enthusiastic, responsible, creative, and knowledgeable people who love working with high school students. They have experience leading groups of young people, and know the area intimately. They are certified in CPR and Senior First Aid and their first aid kit is always within arm's reach. They can run the show, or simply support your leaders. Best of all, they also know how to create fun. Can they lead a game of charades? Check. Know the best swimming holes? Check. And stop for double-fudge chocolate cones? You bet.

Spend time sailing to the reef for snorkeling and interacting with its abundance of life. Do an Introductory SCUBA dive or take 4 days to earn a SCUBA diving certification. Meet with and talk to members of Australia's lastremaining rainforest cultures.Understand the significance of the boomerang and the didgeridoo from gentle aboriginal guides and then learn how to use them. Learn how aboriginal people in this area found their food, made medicine and even soap from what the rainforest had to offer. Hand-craft a didgeridoo under the instuction of an indigenous family and then listen to their creation stories around a bonfire.

Team-building and Leadership SkillsDevelopment

Participate in team-building games and initiatives that teach cooperation, integrity, and trust. Community Service Projects

Community service projects engage students with their destination while making a useful contribution. Join local high school students in their student-created permaculture garden - plant or harvest fruits and vegetables and then enjoy making new friends at the school. Learn about native rainforest trees that flourish in this area, and then plant trees with a grassroots community group. Collect data at a 'marine debris hotspot' and report your findings to the ocean care society. Visit a seed tree plantingnursery and help "baby" seeds regenerate the rainforest. Projects can last from a few hours to a few days, and students receive a certificate for the hours they worked.

Homestay Program

In groups of two, be welcomed for a day or two into the home of an Aussie family. Watch a rugby game, learn to make pavlova (a traditional Aussie dessert) or have a quintessential backyard BBQ. When staying with a family, students live as the locals do and are treated as part of the family.
