Safety & Our Credentials

You can count on us to make your student excursion as safe as it possibly can be.  We do a lot behind the scenes before you ever arrive to mitigate risks without sacrificing fun.  When students arrive, we talk to them and warm them about possible hazards, while also encouraging them to pay careful attention to their own personal safety.  We have had an outside auditor check our procedures to ensure we’re doing things right.

Australian Tourism Accreditation Program (ATAP) Certified

Australian Tourism Accreditation Program (ATAP) Certified

We are proud to say we hold a certificate of accreditation from Australian Tourism Accreditation Program (ATAP).  This was achieved after passing a rigorous set of criteria in our policies and practices, and required a site inspection from an outside auditor. Being among the leading Australian tourism operators also makes us feel really cool.

Superb Safety Record

Superb Safety Record

We have had hundreds of students travel with us on our student tours, and our safety record is outstanding.  We ask teachers at the end of every trip to rate us on safety practices.  The results in 2015-16? One hundred percent of teachers who evaluated us wrote that they were Satisfied with the way we handled students’ safety, with the vast majority saying Very Satisfied. Click here for teacher testimonials  or ask us for teacher references specifically on our safety practices.

Independently Audited Risk Management Program

In 2016 we engaged Cairns-based Total Safety Services to undertake an independent safety audit and WHS Inspection on our operations.  We feel it is important to have an outside auditor approve our processes and also learn best practices for managing our student tour company.  All operating procedures are in a Standard Operating Procedures Manual and our risk management system–both internally and when dealing with suppliers–is extensive.
